All it takes to run RASMAS is up-to-date web browsing software on a subscriber's computer.RASMAS is a 100% web-based service. This means that subscribing healthcare organizations can effectively and efficiently capture, manage, and process product alerts and safety notices directly from the Web at any time from any location using any computer that has an Internet connection and a web browser. No software is required to be installed at the subscriber site. Standards are, however always evolving and RASMAS takes advantage of some newer features that may require changes in your web browser version or setup. This sheet enumerates several minimum and recommended browser versions known to work with RASMAS and the key browser features that must be enabled for operation with RASMAS.
*Note: Noblis suggests using another browser since AOL no longer supports Netscape as of March 1, 2008. Minimum Features Enabled RASMAS does not use special browser plug-ins or features, however four basic features must be available for successful access at your facility/facilities.
Computer Requirements RASMAS has no specific computer requirements; it has been accessed successfully from various versions of Windows, Macintosh, and Linux desktop systems. All that is needed is sufficient capacity and configuration to run the required browser and features. Adobe Acrobat All documents available through Help and attached to alerts are created using Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Reader version 4 or later must be used to read these files. If you have difficulty opening Adobe documents check the following setting on your internet explorer: Select Tools/internet options, then select the Advanced tab. Scroll to the bottom under Security and make sure that the following statement is not checked: "Do not save encrypted pages to disk." Then attempt to open a RASMAS pdf attachment. Network Requirements RASMAS is an internet application. Subscribers must be able to connect to the internet to use the service. At this time bandwidth requirements are fairly low and RASMAS will operate over a dial up connection.
