Continued use of just one item that has been recalled can cost your organization thousands in potential lawsuits and worse, the safety and well-being of a patient.
Because you use more than just biomedical devices to care for
your patients.
When a patient comes through your doors, product utilization goes
into full swing. From the gurney to the IV tubing and tape, safe
care begins with quality care. This means you need to feel confident
that the products used, and the environment in which that patient is
receiving care, is the safest possible.
Alert management for biomedical devices and medical supplies is
expected, but is simply not enough. RASMAS has worked with
numerous health care professionals from biomedical engineers,
facilities engineers and medical supply managers to pharmacists and
OR nurses to gain insight into the universe of products and how they
are managed in the hospital environment. These professionals helped the RASMAS staff identify 14 product domains. When an alert is prepared for release, we assign the
various notifications into the corresponding "domain" for that
product to ensure that it is delivered directly to the individual that
knows most about alert management for that product. And, alert
re-assignment gives you the flexibility to re-route that alert when
special circumstances arise. The current RASMAS domains are:
- Biologics
- Biomedical Devices
- Blood Products
- Children's Consumer Products
- Engineering and Facilities
- Food
- Information Systems
- Laboratory Products
- Medical Supplies
- OR Products
- Other Supplies
- Pharmaceuticals
- Radiology Products
- Tissue
- Veterinary Products

We work with our subscribers to cover the domains that are important to you.
When our first children's hospital became a RASMAS subscriber they wanted to know, "Does
RASMAS gather alerts on toys, cribs, high chairs and other consumer
type products that are routinely used in a pediatric setting?" Now
it does.
As we learn about the information that's important to you, we add
the source and new domain if needed, because that's what patient
safety through advanced technology is all about.
